Sports Coach / SEN Teaching Assistant – Pinner, North West London
Location: Pinner, North West London
Hours: Monday to Friday, 08:30 – 16:00
Contract: Full-Time, Term-Time Only
Start Date: ASAP
Salary: Competitive (dependent on experience)

Uniform Education is recruiting a Sports Coach / SEN Teaching Assistant to join a specialist SEN school in Pinner, supporting pupils with Autism (ASC), SEMH needs, and additional learning needs.
This is a unique opportunity to combine sports coaching and classroom support, using physical activity to improve engagement, behaviour, and emotional wellbeing.
Sports Coach / SEN Teaching Assistant Role – Pinner
As a Sports Coach / SEN TA, you will play a key role in both physical education and classroom-based support, helping students develop confidence and life skills.
Key Responsibilities
Sports Coaching:
Deliver structured sports sessions and physical activities
Promote teamwork, leadership, and cooperation
Use sport to support behaviour regulation and emotional development
Create inclusive sports programmes for pupils of all abilities
Maintain a safe and supportive environment during activities
Classroom & SEN Support:
Support teachers with classroom management and engagement
Provide 1:1 and small group support, particularly for pupils with Autism (ASC)
Integrate physical activity into learning to improve focus
Support pupils with SEN, SEMH, and behavioural needs
Student Wellbeing:
Promote mental health, resilience, and healthy lifestyles
Support pupils with social, emotional, and behavioural challenges
Work closely with pastoral teams and SEN staff
Collaboration & Communication:
Work collaboratively with staff to deliver enrichment and activity programmes
Maintain basic records of student progress and engagement
Communicate effectively with staff, pupils, and parents/carers
Requirements – Sports Coach / SEN Teaching Assistant (Pinner)
To be considered for this Sports Coach / SEN TA job in North West London, you should have:
Experience in sports coaching (school-based experience desirable)
Experience working with children or young people (education, coaching, youth work, care, etc.)
Understanding of SEN / Autism (ASC) (highly desirable)
Strong behaviour management and relationship-building skills
Relevant sports coaching qualifications (preferred)
A proactive, energetic, and adaptable approach
