Parent and Child Practitioner – Mother & Baby Unit – Epsom, Surrey

Location: Epsom, Surrey
Job Type: Permanent
Salary: £28,000 – £34,000 (dependent on experience)
Shifts: Daytime Only (No Nights)
Start Date: December 2025 / January 2026

Are you an experienced Senior Support Worker or Parent and Child Practitioner looking for a rewarding permanent role in Epsom, Surrey?

We are recruiting for a Parent and Child Practitioner to join a specialist Mother and Baby Unit supporting families within a trauma-informed, social work-led environment. About the Role – Parent and Child Practitioner

As a Parent and Child Practitioner in Epsom, you will play a key role in supporting vulnerable families, ensuring safe care practices, and contributing to parenting assessments.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead daytime shifts (no overnight work) ensuring safety and consistency

  • Provide hands-on parenting support and model best practice

  • Observe, record, and contribute to parenting assessments and reports

  • Work collaboratively with social workers, assessors, and multidisciplinary teams

  • Identify and escalate safeguarding concerns appropriately

  • Support the development of a safe, structured, and therapeutic environment

Requirements – Parent and Child Practitioner (Epsom)

To be considered for this Parent and Child Practitioner job in Surrey, you must have:

  • Experience supporting children and families (e.g. residential care, early help, domestic abuse services, or parenting support)

  • Confidence in leading shifts and supporting team members

  • Strong understanding of safeguarding and trauma-informed practice

  • Level 3 (or above) in Health & Social Care (essential)

  • Knowledge or experience of parenting assessments / Parent Assess frameworks

  • Ability to work 6–12 hour shifts, including weekends on a rota

  • Enhanced DBS on the Update Service (or willingness to obtain)
