Uniform Education is seeking a skilled and enthusiastic SEN Teacher to join a specialist primary school in Hillingdon. The school provides outstanding education and care for children with SLD, Autism (ASC), and complex communication or sensory needs. Every pupil has an EHCP, and teaching is highly individualised to support their academic, social, and emotional development.

About the School:

This welcoming and inclusive school offers a safe, structured, and therapeutic setting designed to help children aged 4–11 reach their full potential. With small class sizes, high staff-to-pupil ratios, and access to specialist facilities, pupils benefit from tailored learning experiences that build communication, independence, and confidence. The multidisciplinary team includes Speech and Language Therapists, Occupational Therapists, and Physiotherapists, ensuring a holistic approach to education.

About the Role:

As the class teacher, you will:

  • Teach a small class of primary-aged pupils with SLD and additional needs, supported by experienced SEN Teaching Assistants

  • Plan and deliver multi-sensory, differentiated lessons linked to each child’s EHCP targets

  • Use communication methods such as Makaton, PECS, or AAC systems to support understanding and expression

  • Integrate sensory activities and structured routines to help pupils regulate and engage

  • Work closely with therapists and support staff to ensure consistent, high-quality provision

  • Create a warm, inclusive classroom where children feel safe, valued, and encouraged to explore learning through play and experience

  • Record and assess progress using specialist frameworks such as Routes for Learning, BSquared, or SCERTS

About You:

  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS or QTLS) – essential

  • Proven experience teaching primary-aged pupils with SLD, Autism, or complex learning needs

  • Strong knowledge of differentiation, sensory learning, and communication support strategies

  • Creative, patient, and nurturing approach to teaching and behaviour support

  • Confident leading a team of TAs and working collaboratively within a multidisciplinary environment

  • Excellent communication, organisation, and record-keeping skills

  • Enhanced DBS on the Update Service (or willingness to apply via Uniform Education)

What the School Offers:

  • Supportive leadership and a collaborative, caring team environment

  • Ongoing professional development, including SEN-specific training

  • Access to specialist facilities and therapy spaces designed for sensory and physical needs

  • A strong focus on staff wellbeing and professional growth

  • A genuine opportunity to make a lasting impact on children’s lives
