Learning Support Assistants Needed in Carshalton to Support a Strong SEMH Partnership

At Uniform Education, we are continuing to strengthen our working relationship with a specialist SEMH school in the Carshalton area. This partnership is built on trust, consistency, and a shared commitment to supporting young people with social, emotional, and mental health needs. To ensure this provision remains effective and sustainable, we are now actively seeking dedicated Learning Support Assistants (LSAs) based in or able to travel to Carshalton.

SEMH settings require a particular type of professional: individuals who are resilient, emotionally intelligent, and confident in building positive relationships with pupils who may present with challenging behaviour. LSAs play a critical role in providing stability, structure, and encouragement, both inside and outside the classroom. Their impact goes far beyond academic support; they help pupils regulate emotions, re-engage with learning, and develop trust in adults and education as a whole.

Our aim is to facilitate a brilliant, long-term working relationship between our LSAs and the school. This means prioritising consistency of staff, clear communication, and a strong cultural fit. We work closely with the school’s leadership and SEN team to ensure our staff are well-briefed, well-supported, and aligned with the school’s behaviour policies and therapeutic approaches. In return, LSAs benefit from a well-structured environment, clear expectations, and ongoing feedback.

We are particularly keen to hear from candidates who:

  • Have experience working with SEMH, ASD, or behaviour needs (school or care-based experience is equally valued)

  • Are calm, patient, and able to maintain boundaries

  • Can commit to regular work, providing continuity for pupils

  • Are reflective practitioners who value teamwork and communication

Whether you are an experienced SEMH LSA, a support worker looking to transition into education, or someone with relevant life experience and the right attitude, we would like to speak with you.

By building the right team in Carshalton, we can continue to deliver high-quality support to the school and, most importantly, make a meaningful difference to the pupils who rely on that consistency every day.
