Job Description

The Role:

A good inner city school located close to Abbey Wood station are looking for full time teachers to join their supportive team as of September 2018. This is an amazing opportunity for those who are looking to develop their teaching career. The school are looking for teachers with previous UK experience across mainstream primary school with QTS. NQT's are more than welcome to apply too. The school have classes of 30 students from a variety of cultural backgrounds, so a teacher with engaging and inclusive approach would suit this role. As the school require 2 teachers to join them, they are flexible on year groups to begin with.

The School:

This is a mixed primary school for pupils between the ages 3 and 11 years. The school cater for the first three stages of a child's schooling:

Foundation Stage: 3 to 5 years

Key Stage 1: 5 to 7 years

Key Stage 2: 7 to 11 years

This is a large and spacious building build on two levels. In 2011 they opened a modern new wing with new classrooms and other facilities. In addition to their classrooms they have an ICT suite, Library, several small areas for focused group work, two sports halls and offices. School staff work very hard to provide an attractive and stimulating environment in classrooms, halls and corridors and children are proud to have their learning displayed. The grounds of the school contain four main areas, the FS, KS1 playground, KS2 playground and a much loved wildlife garden and wildlife area. The two main playgrounds are full of games and activities for the children to play.

The schools aim to offer each child a broad and balanced curriculum. Their curriculum is therefore creative and based on skills they believe their children will need in the future. They have high expectations for every pupil's achievement and consistently encourage children to produce learning of a high standard. They believe children learn even more when they are away from the classroom. They include a wide range of educational visits to enrich the curriculum including art galleries, theatres, historic sites and areas of local significance, to introduce children to the rich culture that Greenwich has to offer.
