Job Description

Uniform Education are proud to be partnering an excellent, Catholic, all boys’ Secondary School in Wandsworth who are currently recruiting for a Learning Support Assistant/HLTA. You will be located in different departments working with small groups of students helping them with their studies. The successful applicant will need to be confident with their spoken and written English, have confident behaviour management skills, as well as being able to demonstrate a real passion engaging with children aged 11 – 16.

In addition you will need to be able to demonstrate a degree of independence in planning and delivering lessons to this small set of students. Therefore a high standard of literacy is necessary along with a strong educational background. A can-do attitude is necessary and there may be a requirement to be a co-tutor. Experience in a school support role and some sort of teaching experience would be ideal.

The position we are recruiting for starts immediately and will continue for the academic year 2016-17. Uniform Education are solely working with this school and are looking to appoint for the school over the next seven days. This is an outstanding Secondary school, with a very supportive head teacher, senior leadership team and excellent career progression.

You will be responsible for:

- Providing children with support, both in small groups and on a 1:1 basis
- Planning and delivering support lessons for small groups of students
- Following the child's IEP ensuring they work towards their targets
- Liaising with the class teachers and other support staff on a regular basis
