The school is for children aged between 4 and 19 years old with complex learning disabilities. They offer personalised learning programmes and a cross-curricular approach, including therapy. They work with their students to ensure they maximise their potential through personalised learning.
This is a very exciting time for the school as they are in the pre-opening phase of becoming a Free School with a new building also on the horizon which will accommodate 70 pupils and provide a wider range of facilities. This will also allow them greater opportunities to network with other special schools so they can continue to develop the provision they offer. The vision is one of excellence as they aim to provide every pupil with learning opportunities throughout the school day and beyond by challenging and supporting them to make progress.
The curriculum is exciting and challenging and the staff are dedicated to making it meaningful and relevant to all the pupils. The team of in-house therapists work together with the teaching staff to set individual pupil targets in their personalised learning plans which are integrated across the curriculum and school day.
The roles are temporary initially until the school go through the recruitment process in appointing their permanent support workers.
