Uniform Education are working closely with a specialist SEMH behaviour school based in North London The post will be to start as soon as possible and you will be required to work during term time until the end of the academic year, with the possibility of becoming a permanent member of staff if successful in the role.
The schools work with children who are vulnerable and often display very challenging behaviour. You will need to be patient, resilient and have a holistic approach when working with pupils who suffer from SEMH behaviour issues. You will need to support the teachers in helping children to overcome barriers to their learning, de-escalate challenging behaviour and build up positive, working relationships with the pupils.
The school is a school for Secondary aged children and this particular role will involve working on a 1:1 basis with a year 7 pupil. The school is fantastic, extremely well ran and they have fantastic facilities & equipment on site for the children & staff.
The successful candidate will ideally have the below experience & skills:
Experience of working with pupils with challenging behaviour
Firm understanding of the social, emotional and mental health needs of young people
A desire to support pupils with challenging behaviour
We welcome individuals who have a background in residential care, youth work and ex-forces. It is also desirable to have additional qualifications in courses such as Team Teach & Manual Handling.
