Job Description

My client is seeking to appoint an inspirational and dynamic Geography Teacher to work with members of the successful Humanities department for a maternity cover; the ideal candidate will have experience of teaching Geography to KS 3 - 5 and will support the school's vision and strategic objectives.

Uniform Education are working on behalf of an outstanding Ofsted 11-18 Secondary school in the borough of Lambeth to cover a maternity position. The school will also be recruiting a permanent member for their Geography department from January 2018. The Ofsted Inspection judged the school as exceptional with outstanding leadership. The school is thriving and offer a fantastic CPD programme, a supportive environment in which talent is nurtured and rewarded and other exciting benefits such as every member of staff receives an iPad and students in Years 7-10 have an iPad in lessons under the Anytime, Anywhere Learning Scheme.

The ideal Geography teacher will be an engaging, dynamic and confident educator who will be able to inspire the students. The Head is looking for a highly qualified and enthusiastic Geography specialist who is able to teach across the 11-18 age range, be passionate about Geography and committed to improving teaching and learning. The successful Geography teacher must have good interpersonal and presentation skills, be forward thinking, receptive to change and able to work under pressure. You can be an NQT starting out your teaching career or an experienced Geography teacher looking for a new challenge.

The Humanities department in this popular and successful 11-18 Comprehensive school consists of 5 full-time staff. The Department enjoys excellent accommodation with interactive whiteboards in every classroom and priority access to one of the school's computer rooms. Students begin studying for GCSE in Year 9. The department operates as a close-knit team, with all staff agreeing to their contribution towards formulating policy and supporting the importance of Geography in the curriculum.
