Main Areas of Responsibility
Data and Assessment Systems Management
Provide vision and strategic direction of using data effectively, reliably and to improve the operating performance of the academy
Design and implement new operating, collection and design systems for data including tracking/options
Design and maintain templates for all live data in the Academy that enable staff to identify key trends and gaps
To lead and manage on all aspects of the Bromcom information system ensuring that all data input and output is safe and secure
Lead on ensuring that all data systems including Bromcom are effectively managed where information can be generated efficiently and effectively, including staff access and permissions
To ensure that targets are generated and input into the database in line with the agreed target setting model
Lead on the generation of assessment and data management reports as required during the academic year in line with the assessment, recording and reporting calendar
To undertake the daily administration and arrangements for cover
To line manage the examinations officer, ensuring they fulfil all aspects of their job description
To be innovative and solution focused, for example in using MIS/software systems to create bespoke solutions/reports as required
To prepare an analysis of examination/assessment data as required for example, mock examination and internal assessments for all year groups, highlighting potential concerns
To lead on the completion of the academy timetable, ensuring its integration into Bromcom and updates during the school year as required
To lead on providing the senior leader overseeing the curriculum with options information at key stage 4, for example ensuring options are processed, analysed and managed effectively, including using Excel as required
To liaise with Federation staff, including the sixth form for example, in relation to the sixth form timetable and other data requirements
To lead on the process of setting up class lists, subject codes and class groups
To lead on ensuring all class groups are populated into Bromcom and working effectively
To lead on notifying senior leaders when registers are not being taken by class teachers/tutors
To support the Business Manager in ensuring compliance with GDPR regulations across the academy
To be the lead for any additional information systems used by the academy for example Showmyhomework/4matrix
To download relevant student level information from external sources such as the DFE and upload information as required
To prepare assessment reports for specific groups of students such as those benefiting from the pupil premium and the most able
To lead on generating information on attendance and behaviour as required
To coordinate accurate learning aims for students in the 6th form
Lead other staff to ensure timely and accurate completion of the termly census and workforce census
To be the data and assessment systems expert and train staff as required in their effective and efficient use of the MIS system/other software
To lead on creating and generating reports to parents as required for example progress, medical information
To support the library manager in the use of the library MIS and the reading scheme at key stage 3 in generating and reporting on reading across the academy
To share skills and experience as required with other Harris academies
To be present for the two-week period covering sixth form/GCSE results, liasing with senior leaders and Federation staff as required
To lead on ensuring examinations results are analysed and that information is ready to be provided to the Federation as required
Other Duties
Under the direction of the Academy Leadership Group, undertake such other tasks that may be required to further the efficient running of the Academy, commensurate with the level of the post holder;
To participate in academy trips/visits when requested;
To be responsible for own professional development, identifying training needs and requesting courses as appropriate.
