Are you an experienced SEN Teaching Assistant looking to support young adults aged 18–25 with additional needs?

Uniform Education is recruiting a Post-16 SEN Teaching Assistant to work with students with learning disabilities, physical disabilities, and behavioural needs. This is a rewarding opportunity to support learners in developing independence, life skills, and confidence.

SEN Teaching Assistant Role – Post-16 (18–25)

As an SEN Teaching Assistant, you will support young adults in both academic and life-skills-based learning environments.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide 1:1 and small group support for learners with SEN

  • Adapt learning materials to meet individual needs and abilities

  • Monitor and track student progress and development

  • Support students with behavioural needs and emotional regulation

  • Assist with personal care where required

  • Deliver engaging activities (e.g. creative arts, drama, life skills)

  • Manage classroom challenges and support conflict resolution

  • Work collaboratively with teachers, therapists, and support staff

  • Communicate effectively with parents/carers and professionals

Requirements – SEN Teaching Assistant (Post-16)

To be considered for this SEN TA job in London, you must have:

  • Experience working with SEN / SEND students (essential)

  • Experience supporting individuals with physical disabilities and behavioural needs

  • Confidence providing personal care support

  • Enhanced Child and Adult DBS (essential)

  • Strong understanding of special education practices and safeguarding

  • A patient, resilient, and proactive approach

  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
