Are you an experienced SEN Teaching Assistant looking to support young adults aged 18–25 with additional needs?
Uniform Education is recruiting a Post-16 SEN Teaching Assistant to work with students with learning disabilities, physical disabilities, and behavioural needs. This is a rewarding opportunity to support learners in developing independence, life skills, and confidence.
SEN Teaching Assistant Role – Post-16 (18–25)
As an SEN Teaching Assistant, you will support young adults in both academic and life-skills-based learning environments.
Key Responsibilities:
Provide 1:1 and small group support for learners with SEN
Adapt learning materials to meet individual needs and abilities
Monitor and track student progress and development
Support students with behavioural needs and emotional regulation
Assist with personal care where required
Deliver engaging activities (e.g. creative arts, drama, life skills)
Manage classroom challenges and support conflict resolution
Work collaboratively with teachers, therapists, and support staff
Communicate effectively with parents/carers and professionals
Requirements – SEN Teaching Assistant (Post-16)
To be considered for this SEN TA job in London, you must have:
Experience working with SEN / SEND students (essential)
Experience supporting individuals with physical disabilities and behavioural needs
Confidence providing personal care support
Enhanced Child and Adult DBS (essential)
Strong understanding of special education practices and safeguarding
A patient, resilient, and proactive approach
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
