Qualified Nursery Assistant
Hours: Monday – Friday, Full-Time or Part-Time Available
Location: Didcot
Start Date: ASAP / September Start Available
About the Role
A friendly and well-established nursery in Didcot is seeking a caring and enthusiastic Qualified Nursery Assistant to join their team. This is a fantastic opportunity to support children during their early years in a safe, stimulating, and nurturing environment where every child is encouraged to learn, explore, and thrive.
The successful candidate will work closely with the nursery team to deliver engaging activities in line with the Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS) framework while supporting children's learning, development, and wellbeing.
Key Responsibilities
Support children aged 0–5 years with their learning and daily development
Assist in planning and delivering engaging activities in line with the EYFS framework
Create a safe, inclusive, and stimulating learning environment
Support children's social, emotional, physical, and communication development
Assist with daily routines, including mealtimes, toileting, and transitions
Observe and report on children's progress and wellbeing
Build positive relationships with children, parents, and colleagues
Follow safeguarding, health and safety, and nursery policies at all times
What We’re Looking For
Essential:
Level 2 or Level 3 qualification in Childcare or Early Years
Previous experience working within a nursery or early years setting
Good knowledge of the EYFS framework
Strong communication and teamwork skills
Caring, patient, and enthusiastic approach
Enhanced DBS on the Update Service (or willingness to obtain one)
Right to Work in the UK
Desirable:
CACHE Level 2 or Level 3 qualification
Paediatric First Aid qualification
Experience supporting children with additional needs
Knowledge of safeguarding and child development
